Paul Hardisty will be talking about the past, present and future of the world's reefs and oceans. This talk will be an intergenerational event with BUINTCOL students joining and will take place at in a theatre style room.
Paul Hardisty has spent 35 years working all over the world as an engineer, hydrologist and environmental scientist. He is the author of IN HOT WATER: Inside the Battle to Save the Great Barrier Reef, which was shortlisted for the 2025 West Australian Premier's Award for non-fiction. Before becoming a full-time writer, he was CEO of the Australian Institute of Marine Science from 2017 to 2023, and before that he was Director of Australia's national science agency, the CSIRO. Paul is a graduate of Imperial College, London, and was a visiting lecturer at Imperial for 20 years. The Hope, his latest novel, is about a future affected by war and climate change published by Orenda Books in London.
